I have come to the conclusion that my photography has taken a rather artistic slant, no longer am I consumed by the need or desire for constant acceptance. I use to think having thousands of page views and hundreds of favourites was the main goal of joining this website. I'll even admit I paid for advertisment on this website, and for what? While I have gained so many watchers who I often have friendly conversations with and care about, I still feel I have wasted too much money on this need for acceptance. You might have noticed I barely upload anymore and the standard of recent work is crap. [Well I think so anyway] I need to apologies for all this shit work for starters, and to my loyal watchers who somehow still watch me. I've been lazy and depressed and haven't really picked up my camera for a long time. I haven't had the drive to set up a good photo, to experiement with settings, to even do a propper self portrait! [Which god knows I usually love] So my solution to all this is to set myself a task, which took a very talents photographer to convince me.
- I am going to pick up my camera everyday
- Experiment everyday
- Upload everyday - whether they are shit or not, you will see it
The aim of the task is to exhaust every technical setting availabe on the camera and to open my mind to possibilities. While I've been asleep to the world around me so many things have changed. I've moved state, house, made new friends. Everything has changed - so I ask myself, why haven't I been taking photos so enthusicastically as I use to. It is time to break this trance and open my eyes. I am not setting out for popularity anymore, I am stepping out of the desperate needs and wants of my immautre self and venturing into self exploration.
